Study notes
Let's trace a flower's life: Step 1: The big plant (Sporophyte 2n) grows a flower. Step 2: Inside the flower, special cells divide (Meiosis) to create pollen grains and ovules (Gametophyte n). Step 3: Pollen travels to the ovule (Pollination). Step 4: Sperm from the pollen meets the egg in the ovule (Fertilization). Step 5: They form a Zygote (2n), which grows into a seed. Step 6: The seed is planted, and it grows into a new big plant (Sporophyte 2n). The cycle repeats.
