Study notes

Let's look at the lifecycle of Chlamydomonas: 1. Stage 1: The parent cell is swimming in a pond. 2. Stage 2: It decides to reproduce asexually. It stops moving and divides its insides into 4 to 8 small parts. 3. Stage 3: These parts grow little tails called flagella. Now they are called Zoospores. 4. Stage 4: The parent cell wall breaks (bursts). 5. Stage 5: The Zoospores swim out into the water. 6. Stage 6: Each Zoospore grows up to become a new adult Chlamydomonas.
