Andhra Pradesh's fish ponds made it India's 'fish bowl' — rohu and catla harvested by the tonne. Chilika's fishermen farm shrimp in pens — brackish-water aquaculture livelihoods. Composite fish culture (catla surface + rohu middle + mrigal bottom) — one pond, three harvests, no wasted space. Your fish curry's rohu probably came from such a pond, not a river.
