Study notes

In a growing onion root tip, if you count 100 dividing cells you typically find ~60 in prophase, ~20 in metaphase, ~10 in anaphase, ~10 in telophase — prophase is longest because condensing kilometres of DNA into visible chromosomes takes the most time.
