Study notes

A 28-year-old office worker named Rahul visited the clinic because his lower front teeth were 'crowded' (overlapping like people in a crowded bus). Diagnosis: Class I Malocclusion with 3mm crowding. Treatment: 1. Digital scanning of his teeth. 2. IPR (Interproximal Reduction), which means very slightly slimming the sides of the teeth (like sanding a piece of wood) to create tiny gaps. 3. Rahul was given 12 sets of clear aligners. 4. He wore each set for 10 days. Outcome: After 4 months, his teeth were perfectly straight. Follow-up: He was given a 'Retainer' (a final tray) to wear at night so the teeth don't 'bounce back' to their old crooked spots.
