Study notes
Deep caries reaches a primary molar's pulp but roots are healthy. Why pulpotomy, not extraction? The primary molar holds space for the premolar - extraction without a space maintainer invites crowding; pulpotomy preserves the tooth as its own best space maintainer. Students learn primary-tooth value: every saved primary tooth is orthodontics prevented - pulp therapy's goal is keeping the placeholder until nature replaces it.
