Q: Describe f(x,y) = x^2 + y^2. Find f(1,2) and the level curve c = 9. f(1,2) = 1 + 4 = 5. Level curve f = 9: x^2 + y^2 = 9 - a circle of radius 3! The graph is a paraboloid (bowl) opening upward, vertex at origin.
