Q: Toss two coins. A = first is H, B = second is H. Independent? P(A) = 1/2, P(B) = 1/2. P(A intersect B) = P(HH) = 1/4. (1/2)(1/2) = 1/4. Equal, so independent! Also P(B|A) = 1/2 = P(B) - knowing the first tells nothing about the second.
