Study notes

Three beakers: (A) salt water, (B) muddy water, (C) milk. Identify each type. Step 1: A — salt fully dissolved, clear, no settling → true solution. Step 2: B — mud particles visible, settle on standing, can be filtered → suspension. Step 3: C — looks uniform but scatters a torch beam (Tyndall effect), does not settle → colloid. Test: filter B (residue left), shine light through C (beam visible), A passes both tests as solution.
