Study notes
How does a same-day CAD-CAM crown skip the temporary crown stage? The dentist scans the prepared tooth with an intraoral camera (no impression material), designs the crown on screen, and a chairside mill carves it from a ceramic block in ~15 minutes. Since the final crown is ready the same visit, no temporary crown or second appointment is needed. Students learn this digital chain because it compresses a two-week lab workflow into one sitting.
