Study notes
A 45-year-old patient presents with a missing lower right first molar (Tooth #46). Clinical exam and OPG X-ray show sufficient bone height. Diagnosis: Partially edentulous site. Step 1: Local anesthesia using 2% Lidocaine with 1:80,000 Adrenaline. Step 2: Full-thickness incision made with a #15 blade. Step 3: Sequential drilling at 800 RPM with constant saline irrigation, starting with a 2mm pilot drill to a depth of 10mm. Step 4: Final site preparation using a 4.0mm diameter drill. Step 5: Implant insertion (4.0mm x 10mm SLA-treated Titanium implant) at 30 Ncm torque. Step 6: Cover screw placement and primary closure with 4-0 silk sutures. Follow-up: Suture removal at 7 days, loading after 3 months of osseointegration confirmed by Periotest or stability torque check.
