Study notes
A patient on warfarin needs an NSAID for dental pain. What is the interaction concern? NSAIDs impair platelet function and irritate the stomach lining while warfarin thins the blood — together, bleeding risk rises significantly. Teaching: prefer paracetamol for such patients (with dose awareness), avoid NSAIDs unless the physician advises, and always confirm the drug history before prescribing. This is why the drug-history question is never skipped.
