Veneers: composite and ceramic

Aesthetic Dentistry Basics · Dental (BDS)

Study notes

A bruxer wants ceramic veneers on front teeth. Why caution? Bruxism fractures thin porcelain - the parafunctional load that cracked natural enamel will crack veneers; a night guard becomes mandatory or composite (repairable) is chosen. Students learn veneer case selection: healthy enamel to bond, no bruxism (or guarded), realistic expectations - because veneers succeed on selected teeth and fail on forced ones.
