Study notes
A car of mass 1000 kg takes a circular turn of radius 50 m at 15 m/s. Find the centripetal force. Step 1: a_c = v²/r = (15)²/50 = 225/50 = 4.5 m/s² Step 2: F_c = m × a_c = 1000 × 4.5 = 4500 N This force is provided by friction between tires and road, acting toward the center.
