Study notes

A ball is projected at 20 m/s at 60° above horizontal onto an incline of 30°. Find the range up the incline. Step 1: Identify: u = 20 m/s, θ = 60°, α = 30°, g = 9.8 m/s² Step 2: Use R = 2u²·cos(α)·sin(θ-α) / (g·cos²α) Step 3: θ - α = 30°. cos30° = 0.866, sin30° = 0.5 Step 4: R = 2(400)(0.866)(0.5) / (9.8 × 0.75) = 346.4 / 7.35 = 47.1 m Answer: Range up the incline is 47.1 m.
