Study notes
A paternity test confirms a father with 99.99% probability. DNA's base-pairing (A-T, G-C) makes every person's genome a unique 3-billion-letter text — half from each parent. PCR amplifies tiny samples (a hair, saliva), and matching repeat patterns (STRs) between child and alleged father gives the probability. The same base-pairing that stores heredity became the courtroom's most reliable witness — structure enabling technology.
