Eczema and dermatitis: atopic, contact, seborrheic

Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy · MBBS

Study notes

A child — itchy flexural rash; atopic dermatitis; moisturizers + mild steroids. Eczema: atopic (children — flexural — itchy — dry: moisturize — emollients; topical steroids — mild; tacrolimus — face; wet wraps — severe; triggers — soap, wool), contact (allergic — nickel — patch test; irritant — detergents: avoid + steroids), seborrheic (oily — scalp — dandruff; nasolabial: ketoconazole shampoo + mild steroids). The flexural itch in a child is atopic — moisturize always.
