Prosthetic rehabilitation over implants

Implantology Basics · Dental (BDS)

Study notes

Cement excess is found under an implant crown with bone loss. What went wrong? Cement-retained crown without complete excess removal - the classic iatrogenic peri-implantitis; screw-retained would have avoided it. Students learn the cement caution: if cementing, use minimal cement with retrievable provisional cement and verify radiographically - or choose screw-retained; the aesthetic gain never outweighs the bone loss.
