Study notes

The drill runs dry and hot during osteotomy. Why must it stop? Overheating kills osteocytes - thermal necrosis around the implant prevents osseointegration; cool saline irrigation is non-negotiable. Students learn surgical gentleness: sharp drills, light pressure, copious irrigation, prosthetically planned angulation - because the bone remembers every insult, and integration forgives little.
