Epidemiology: measures of disease frequency, study designs

Study notes
A factory's asthma cases cluster on the night shift near the chemical unit. Descriptive epidemiology (person — night-shift workers; place — near chemicals; time — shift hours) generates the hypothesis; a cohort study (exposed vs unexposed followed — relative risk) tests it; an RCT of ventilation/filters would prove intervention. Person-place-time is the detective's lens — clustering is the first clue, analytics the proof.
