Study notes
A sexual assault survivor is examined — consent taken, injuries mapped, swabs sealed. Medico-legal examination: informed consent (refusal respected — examine only consented parts), history in her words, general + genital injuries documented (recent tears bleed; old are pale), evidence kit (swabs, clothes, nails — chain of custody sealed), age estimation if disputed, prophylaxis (STI, emergency contraception) and counseling offered. The hymen proves nothing — elastic, varied; the banned two-finger test is unscientific. Documentation is the evidence — objectivity is the duty.
