Study notes
A village's cholera outbreak ends after the well is chlorinated. Safe water (0 coliforms/100 ml — chlorination 0.5 mg/L residual, boiling, filtration) breaks fecal-oral transmission — cholera, typhoid, hepatitis A/E all ride dirty water. Sanitary latrines (excreta contained) + handwashing break the rest. Swachh Bharat's toilets + Jal Jeevan's taps are epidemiology in concrete — the well's chlorine is the village's vaccine.
