A 1.8kg preterm — kangaroo care, expressed milk; physiological jaundice day 3 — phototherapy. Prematurity (<37 weeks; LBW <2.5kg, VLBW <1.5kg: problems — hypothermia — warm chain; RDS — surfactant; feeding — small expressed feeds — NEC risk; sepsis; jaundice; apnea): care — NICU — warmth (incubator/KMC — kangaroo mother care — skin-to-skin), feeding — EBM, monitoring. Neonatal jaundice (physiological — day 2–3 — immature liver — observe; pathological — <24h, high/persistent — hemolysis — Coombs; treat — phototherapy — blue light; exchange transfusion — severe — kernicterus risk). The small baby loses heat — KMC is the incubator.
