Study notes
Sudden leg weakness after stress — normal scans; conversion; physiotherapy + CBT. Conversion disorder (neurological deficit — weakness, non-epileptic seizures — after stress — inconsistent — rule out organic first: treat — physiotherapy + CBT — suggestion): somatoform (somatic symptom — pain, GI — distressing — no cause: CBT + treat depression), hypochondriasis (health anxiety — misinterprets: reassurance + CBT), dissociative (amnesia — trauma — can't recall; fugue — wandering; DID — identities: psychotherapy — trauma-focused). Never label without ruling out — investigations first.
